3D experimentation

Today we experimented in 3D with photoshop again. First we made a black to white gradient on the background and used the text tool to type our name. We then went into 3d Repousse and then text layer. We then played around with extrude and lights as well as paning and zooming just like 3D max.
I liked doing this but I still prefer 3D max as its fully focused on 3D and in photoshop 3D is just an extra.

  1. Stage 1
Good content in stage 1. However, some sources are missing from your posts – the criteria require you to record “how, when and where you find the information”
    Stage 2:
You refer to the Pandora website as material that you researched, but this is not included in stage 1 and should be.
In your logo development post, you show a dark logo, out of a transparent background. It’s hard to see this, and you criticized a website for this. Change if you can.
You refer to the DeviantART and Manga tutorials websites as material that you researched, but this is not included in stage 1 and should be.
Good explanation of why you changed your project proposal, but needs to be backed up by evidence of your research.
    Stage 3:
Lots of experimentation effectively recorded in your posts. Try to add some evaluation at the end of each experimental piece – what you think was effective and what you think could be improved and how.
The The pen tool, Refine Edge and Content Aware Fill post – it would be good to see the image(s) produced.
Photomerge – needs more detail e.g. how many source files, and certainly comment on the result
Making a website in flash ends with “and” .... were you going to add something?
Cover page and double spread in Neville Brody's style – add detail
3D Experimentation – no mention of how it looked with the glasses????
3D experimentation – needs detail to make this post worthwhile.

In the description section of this stage, you are advised to “make imaginative connections between your own work and that of other practitioners”. There is any opportunity here for you to meet this by adding how you could use some of the techniques/methods within your own production work. Also, if you added to what was being demonstrated, and outlined how you achieved the modification, this would also help to meet this criteria.

Generally very good work, a few silly typos and spelling errors. You should be recording your progress (screen grabs, records of what you are doing in your website etc, and this should be here as evidence for stage 4. I hope this is in progress. (Marz refers to this as your production log I think)
